Alto Entertainment has an ambitious vision to expand the genre of movie musicals.
With collaborators from across the spectrum of music, theatre, and film/tv, Alto is pushing the boundaries of what a movie musical can be. By creating expressly for camera, we aren’t laden with the monumental cost and weight of expectation that comes with translating major Broadway properties into big-budget Hollywood films.
Instead, we get to tell diverse new stories through all genres of music, breathing fresh perspective and creativity into an industry that has been all but consumed by film to stage adaptations and jukebox musicals.
Musicals don’t get enough credit for being so surreal.
It’s like an alternate universe.

CEO and Lead Producer Max King founded Alto Entertainment in 2021. When faced with the Covid shutdown conundrum, rather than abandon the industry he had devoted his life to, this multi-disciplinary artist, producer, and lifelong musical theatre performer decided to catalyze the type of change he wished to see in Broadway and Hollywood.
The purpose of Alto is to explore all that is possible through the most unique and powerful storytelling medium we have at our disposal: the [movie] musical.
Chief Creative Officer Doron JéPaul joined Alto in 2022. A graduate of NYU Graduate Acting, Doron has performed on Broadway in Aaron Sorkin’s To Kill A Mockingbird and August Wilson’s The Piano Lesson, as well as starred in award-winning films, all while writing and producing for theater, television and film.
He has developed and cultivated projects with Level Forward Company, New York Stage and Film, New York Theatre Workshop, The Lark, SPACE on Ryder Farm, Wheelhouse, BMI, Less Than Rent Theatre, and Playwrights Horizons to name a few.
